Permanent Makeup + Cosmetic Tattoo Aftercare
Proper aftercare is critical to your final healed result. Healing varies by person, skin type, and lifestyle. Please follow these instructions carefully.
If you experience severe swelling, spreading redness, pus, fever, or increasing pain, seek medical attention.
ā
What to Expect
Days 1–3:
• Tenderness, redness, mild swelling
• Pigment appears darker and more intense
Days 3–10:
• Light flaking or peeling
• Color may appear patchy or lighter
Weeks 2–6:
• Color settles and softens
• Final healed result visible around 4–6 weeks
Do NOT pick, scratch, or peel. Let flaking shed naturally.
DAILY CLEANSING (START IMMEDIATELY)
You must gently wash the treated area daily throughout the healing process.
ā
How to Wash:
-
Wash hands thoroughly.
-
Use lukewarm water and a antibacterial soap cleanser.
-
Gently cleanse the treated area.
-
Rinse carefully.
-
Pat dry with a clean paper towel (do not rub).
Wash once daily minimum.
If exposed to sweat, dirt, or makeup, cleanse gently as needed.
ā
FIRST 48 HOURS
• Wash daily as instructed above.
• Keep the area clean and dry.
• Avoid heavy sweating, steam, or soaking.
• Do NOT apply ointment during the first 48 hours unless directed.
ā
AFTER 48 HOURS — OINTMENT USE
Beginning 48 hours after your procedure, apply a very thin layer of:
After Ink Ointment

ā
Apply 2–3 times daily for 5–10 days, or until flaking is complete.
ā ļø Apply sparingly. The skin should not look greasy or overly saturated. Too much ointment can affect pigment retention.
Continue washing daily before each application.
ā

Avoid for approximately 10–14 days or until peeling is finished:
• Swimming, hot tubs, saunas
• Direct sun exposure or tanning beds
