Micro-needle Aftercare 

Microneedling creates controlled micro-injuries in the skin to stimulate collagen production. Proper aftercare is critical to healing, preventing irritation, and maximizing results.

šŸ•’ First 24 Hours (Critical Healing Window)

āœ… What To Do

  • Leave skin clean and makeup-free

  • Apply sterile hyaluronic acid serum only

  • Use a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer

  • Drink plenty of water

  • Sleep on a clean pillowcase

āŒ Avoid

  • Makeup

  • Sweating/exercise

  • Direct sun exposure

  • Touching your face

  • Retinol, vitamin C, acids (AHA/BHA), benzoyl peroxide

  • Harsh cleansers

Your skin may look red (like a mild sunburn), feel tight, warm, or slightly swollen. This is normal.

  • Pinkness

  • Light flaking

Skincare Routine

Morning

  1. Gentle cleanser

  2. Hyaluronic acid

  3. Gentle moisturizer

  4. Mineral sunscreen SPF 30+

Night

  1. Gentle cleanser

  2. Hyaluronic acid

  3. Moisturizer

Still avoid active ingredients.

  • Light peeling may occur

  • Skin may feel rough or dry

  • Glow starts to appear

You may slowly reintroduce:

  • Vitamin C (low strength)

  • Niacinamide

  • Light makeup

Still avoid:

  • Retinol (wait at least 5–7 days)

  • Chemical peels

  • Exfoliation

  • Tanning

ā˜€ļø Sun Protection is NON-NEGOTIABLE

Microneedled skin is extremely photosensitive.

Use:

  • Mineral sunscreen (zinc oxide/titanium dioxide)

  • Wide-brim hat if outdoors

  • Reapply SPF every 2 hours

Sun damage during healing can cause hyperpigmentation.

🚿 What About Showering?

You may shower after 8–12 hours.
Avoid:

  • Hot water

  • Steam

  • Saunas

  • Pools for 48 hours

  • Light mineral makeup after 24 hours

  • Full coverage after 48 hours (if no irritation)

  • Increasing redness after 72 hours

  • Pus or yellow discharge

  • Severe swelling

  • Fever

  • Blistering

  • Keep skin hydrated

  • Avoid alcohol-based products

  • Skip exfoliation for 1 week

  • Follow your provider’s specific instructions

  • Schedule treatments 4–6 weeks apart
